Identification Documents: order to attain IDs and what each type of ID does

State ID or Driver’s License
State IDs enables individuals to be able to:

• sign up for TennCare
• sign up for SNAP-> *allows sign up for free mobile phone
• sign up for a birth certificate
• register to vote
• board a plane
• ability to purchase alcohol, guns, coup syrup and cigarettes
• opening a bank account
• get married
• adopt a pet
• rent a hotel room
• apply for a hunting or fishing license
• buy a contract cell phone
• pick up a prescription
• donate blood

Birth Certificate
State ID + a Birth Certificate enables individuals to:
sign up for job training

• sign up for treatment
• apply for a jo
• get a paycheck from an employer

Social Security Card (basically acts as a Birth Certificate)
recommendation: Social Security Office in Metro Center

• coupled with a state ID a SS card enables all of above benefits

Passport
recommendation: Post Office
allows an individual to do all the above AND

• entry and exit out of the United States
